A Kids’ Brain Tumor Cure Foundation (AKBTC) was launched in 2007 to fill a void in the scientific community by raising awareness and funds for pediatric brain cancer research.

CHALLENGE:
To establish itself as a credible source of pediatric brain cancer funding for the scientific community AKBTC needed creative and effective fundraising strategies replicable across the country and a plan to communicate these opportunities to the public.

SOLUTION:
AKBTC turned to Marketing Matters to help generate practical and cost-efficient tools that would not only raise funds, but also help bring awareness about pediatric brain cancer onto the national stage. We created investor presentations, e-messaging and social media, and printed communications to tell AKBTC’s story in a most compelling way.

RESULTS:
Having raised over $12 million since 2007, AKBTC has established itself as the single largest funding organization for scientific research for the most common forms of children’s brain tumors in the country. The medical/scientific community’s response to the availability and reliability of funding is most noticeable in the quantity of funding applications received by the organization – doubling in volume year over year for the past 3 years.
