The Elsevier Foundation provides grants to support libraries across the world as well as scholars in the early stages of their careers.

CHALLENGE:
Elsevier, one of the world’s largest providers of scientific, technical, and medical information products and services wanted to launch a Foundation.

SOLUTION:
Marketing Matters reviewed best practices for other corporate foundations focusing on mission, eligibility requirements, and giving guidelines. With this research as background, we helped develop the strategy for Elsevier’s philanthropic activities. We framed the giving focus and structure of core components. Then we helped create a marketing plan driven by awareness-building and employee engagement including e-communications, brochures, and website.

RESULTS:
The Elsevier Foundation was launched with great success. Since inception, the Foundation has awarded grants worth millions of dollars to non-profits.
